Precision Health offers a wide range of computing resources and tools for researchers to query and analyze the health data of over 5 million Michigan Medicine patients. Researchers can access a HIPAA-compliant, secure (Linux or Windows) computing environment. Computing resources and tools include:

 

 


Secure Enclave Services

The Secure Enclave Service (SES) is the university’s private cloud environment for research. SES is accessed by virtual desktop machines and servers. Learn more. 

Armis2
Accessible through SES, Armis2 is a HIPAA-aligned High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster.  With the Turbo Research Storage, this is a secure, scalable, and distributed computing environment. Learn more.

 

 

 

DataDirect
DataDirect is a web-based tool that provides access to the clinical data on more than 5 million unique patients from across the Michigan Medicine enterprise.  Available data includes diagnoses, encounters, procedures, medications, labs and more. The data has been de-identified and date shifted to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Learn more.

De-identified Research Data Warehouse (DeID RDW)
The DeID RDW includes clinical data on more than 5 million unique patients from across the Michigan Medicine enterprise. Available data includes  diagnoses, encounters, procedures, medications, labs and more. The data has been de-identified and date shifted to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Users can run SQL Queries directly against the data. Learn more.

Encore
Encore is a self-serve, web-based analysis tool for running genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Researchers are able to run GWAS in a point-and-click interface without needing to directly manipulate or “touch” the genetic data. Learn more.
