With this awards program, Michigan Precision Health expanded the field of precision health by cultivating a cohort of promising early-career researchers in the field and engaged early-career investigators with tools and data to support their work.
Precision Health funded 12 Scholars Awards in 2018 and nine Scholars Awards in 2019. Funding available per awardee was up to $80,000 for one year. Applications were sought from doctoral students, postdocs, fellows, residents, or trainees from any U-M school performing research in the area of precision health. Applicants were sponsored and mentored by a U-M Precision Health–affiliated faculty member.
