Increased opioid prescription fills after dental procedures performed before weekends and holidays
May 22, 2020Chad Brummett, MD, co-investigator for Precision Health’s Precision Opioid Prescribing Use Case, is lead author on a paper that draws on four years’ worth of data from two million patients to show that those having dental procedures on a Friday or a day before a holiday were much more likely to fill a prescription for an opioid.

April 30, 2020In addition to the $2.5M grant from the American Heart Association for the WIRED-L study, U-M has been awarded an additional $200K for a special project focusing on rapid technology solutions to address COVID-19. The COVID-19 Health Evaluation & Cardiovascular Complications (CHECC) Study will use mobile health to track physiological and cardiovascular consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
