MGI genotype dataset Freeze 6 now available; cohort size increased by 10,306 participants!

Precision Health’s Michigan Genomics Initiative is pleased to announce the completion of the genotype calling, quality control, and imputation for Freeze 6 of the MGI genotype dataset. Changes from Freeze 5 include:

  • Available genotyped cohort size increased by 10,306 participants.
  • Phasing of all MGI samples performed with TOPMed as reference. In Freeze 5, samples assayed on the CoreExome array were phased without a reference panel.\

The new dataset is just over 80K individuals with ≈ 20K individuals assayed on our new Global Screening Array and ≈ 60K individuals assayed on our legacy CoreExome arrays. The inferred majority genetic ancestry of the participants included as a part of Freeze 6 is primarily European (n=69,589) with smaller numbers of African (n=4,993), Western Asian (n=2,260), Eastern Asian (n=1,784), Central/South Asian (n=1,181), and Native American (n=722). This release has been imputed with the Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) panel as reference. See the readme for more information and technical details.
