The overall aim of Education & Training is to develop an interdisciplinary, team science approach for precision health education at U-M and Michigan Medicine. As precision health evolves, the need for a research and professional workforce experienced in this field has become a reality. As health research continues to embrace the team science model, it is becoming more important for the next generation of scientists and health care professionals to have a broad understanding of the many fields impacted by precision health.
Education & Training offers a unique Precision Health Graduate Certificate Program that is available to all U-M graduate and professional students. The certificate program offers opportunities to develop skills specific to the emerging field of precision health.

Education & Training Goals:
- With outreach to ongoing educational initiatives, devise a comprehensive PH learning environment that also ensures community and patient engagement in learning
- Initiate a program of undergraduate and graduate research training in PH
- Working with key partners, devise practical training for health professionals wishing to use PH resources in their research
- Facilitate the education and training of currently practicing health professionals (continuing medical education).
- In the real-world hospital/clinic environment, invoke knowledge-to-practice (K2P) methods focused on implementation of actionable insights and resulting in practice change at the individual, group, and organizational levels
- Provide education to patients participating in these efforts so they can understand what this approach may mean for them personally, as well as for society
